The next version of Apple’s main AR headset, the Vision Pro 2, is expected in late 2025. The first device, released in early 2024, changed how people use computers in an immersive way. According to reports, the next one will use less power and stay cooler thanks to a better Apple Silicon chip—maybe the M3 or M4. This will make the battery last longer, keep the device cooler, and make it much more comfortable to wear for a long time or all day at work.

The new chip offers more processing power for graphics, better AI tasks, and faster memory. App builders should start getting ready by making their apps work best for this specific hardware and rebuilding them for this next version.

  • Meditation views using your real-world environment.
  • Language translations of signs right away.
  • Help remembering things—Siri could “highlight” your car in a parking lot.

Apps must work well with minimal input, handle requests fast right on the device, and still be very easy to use.

Changing User Experience: No More Touchscreens

Developers raised on iPhones and iPads are used to the language of taps, swipes, and buttons. But in spatial environments, the rules are different.

How you interact with things in this new space will mostly use:
