create-react-app aborting – ESLINT not found

Attempting to create a new app

npx create-react-app my-test-app

and getting this error in the console – unsurprisingly the esLint.tgz is 404ing in a browser. How do you get around this?

Running npm 8.13.2 and node 18.4.0

Can’t seem to find any similar solutions – tried clearing cache too. Any ideas?
