Navlink color change on focus

i’m using the latest version of bootstrap , I want to know how to change background color of the dropdown nav-link when focused or clicked .. currently the default background-color is blue and i want to change it to be red .

i have created the bootstrap navbar code bellow with additional css but when i click on particular dropdown link it does not work (does not change the color)

which css rule / code should i write to change the desired outputs?

If you observe through Chrome DevTools, you’ll see that the class name you provided is incorrect. The ‘dropdown-item’ class adds a blue background. You don’t need the active class.
